Arsenal are in a great position to actually win the title this year. However a lot will depend on what Arsene Wenger will do during this transfer window. The injury of Theo Walcott and Nicklas Bendtner, should surely force Wenger`s hand into his pocket. He simply cannot afford to not to. Giroud is now the only natural centre forward available. Podolski`s pedestrian showing against Cardiff where he appeared lost and nervous, left more questions than answers about his suitability in the centre forward position. Off course his lacklustre performance could be attributed to rust given that he is just returning from long term injury.
But the fact remains, Arsenal must continue winning their games and goals will be key to that endeavour. They simply cannot afford any slip-ups because chances that Man City will drop many points are fast becoming slimmer. They will have to heavily depend on their own performances to stand any chance and thus a lot will hinge on what Le Professor Tightwad will do on the transfer market.
To his credit, Arsene Wenger is traditionally the master of the final third of the season. Arsenal`s champions league qualification over the past four years has largely been due to performances between March and May, where they have dropped the least points while others have struggled. It is difficult to see how Man City `s performance levels will drop and based on current indications, that they will still be ripping teams to shreds come May.
